| Viet Nam is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula. The nation is vibrant and alive despite spending all but seven years of the 20th century embattled in conflicts. Its economic growth had been among the highest in the world in the past decade. Viet Nam boasts more than 85 million people; more than half are under 25 years old. There are more than 54 ethnic minorities throughout the country; the largest are the Hmong, Dao, Tay, Thai and Nung. |
