The World is a Book and Those Who Don’t Travel Read Just One
- POSTED BY GvtAsia IN Non classé
When we read the Bible, we see many references to God speaking to man in the Bible. It seems that God always addresses people in the language of dreams or reflections. He does this to call upon them to listen and obey Him. The Bible tells us that men should walk in truth and love light, for His sake. We are also told to keep the commandments that have been commanded to us and to live as though there were no present.
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page. Nearly every reference says that it comes from the pen of St. Augustine. As much as anyone can tell it actually does come from his writings, as far back as anyone can remember, nobody has ever been able to locate it in his actual writings. That’s because it was written hundreds of years ago and nobody knows where it is.
There are, however, many who claim that St. Augustine wrote this. If you take a look at the first page of the Catholic Church’s own bibliographies, you will see that it refers to it as well. Even the first half of the eleventh page is called a travel quote. The problem is that it is extremely difficult to understand what St. Augustine is saying in these pages. The rest of the book consists of nothing but a series of different poems and sayings.
So, while the title “The World is a Book” may sound like a line from a James Bond movie, the truth is that it comes from one of the earliest Catholic Church writings on the travel genre. It is called the Book of Wisdom and it is available on the Internet for a very low price. It is one of the most impressive documents in all of Catholic history and it contains everything from spiritual and mental readings to tips on long and short distance travels. The fact that it is written in Latin means that it was used as a standard manual for priests and monks all over the world, and not just in the Catholic Church.
In order to understand The World is a Book and those who do not travel read only one page, you have to look beyond the literal meaning of the words. The term “travel” always refers to leaving from one place to another. St. Augustine did not write about traveling in this text, but he did write about leaving the physical body and entering the spiritual world. This is the key idea behind the concept of The World is a Book and those who do not travel read only one page.
The idea of The World is a Book and those who do not travel read only one page. The first line from the Introduction states, “Let us read not, seeing that we see not; but seeing that we know something.” This is one of the most powerful statements in the entire book and this is what makes it great. When someone says The World is a Book and those who do not travel to hear about this amazing discovery, it is amazing indeed. The words are wise and they are beautiful. These words begin with, “Let us read not, seeing that we see not; but seeing that we know something.”
